Of course, we really loved the Fisheries Museum, which gave us a good feel for the history of the fishing industry in the Atlantic. On Lunenburg's working waterfront you can still hear the ring of the blacksmith's hammer and see traditional skills still being used. We got to shuck scallops with the talented Captain George. The captain made it look easy but it does take some doing and practice to get it right. We hear that dipping the live scallop into boiling water for 15 seconds causes the shell to open and makes accessing the tasty meat easier to remove.
