Apr 22, 2012 - @BlackOpVideos100 Me too like from a distance it won't take cover. It seems like I literally be raping the wall to wallbounce.

Apr 30, 2012 - where can I get a razr onza controller??
TheUltra111 mowi:
May 5, 2012 - Thanks for the video mate, nice look at both that controller and wallbouncing. I saw the "Razer Onza Tournament Edition Gaming Controller" on Amazon; is this the one you use? And would you say it is worth the £40 they're selling it for?

May 9, 2012 - That's a player problem, not an issue with the control scheme. The reason it seems like you are standing there, is because you do not have an appreciation for the correct distances and angle need to initiate a slide. Alternate forces you to understand this if you want to chain bounces well. In fact, alternate makes bouncing far smoother and less risky, overall I switched a while back and have nothing but positive things to say about the alternate scheme.

May 9, 2012 - You people have no idea how great the ALT. BUTTON SCHEME used to be in GEARS 2 and the BETA. Epic seriously fucked it up.
82PeRK mowi:
May 9, 2012 - No bud you are wrong, it wasn't a problem in the BETA or GEARS 2. I noticed it was problem the day the retail came out.
82PeRK mowi:
May 9, 2012 - Think i will just stick with my regular controller, To the new ALT. SCHEME users, you have no idea what you missed back in the day, Gears 3 retail ALT SCHEME is junk , ive been bitching about it since the release, it was a problem in Gears 2 or the BETA. Im talking about not being able to slide into cover. It used to be great.

May 11, 2012 - wow, i want that controller now! do the analog sticks have the same sensitivity as the microsoft pads? i usually find that unofficial pads have whack analog sensitivity, and i find they are much less reliable. Can the same be said for the pad you use? if the answer is no i may have to invest

May 13, 2012 - i know watching this video the onza looks great but really, they are terrible. they will work then the grip will come off after a few weeks then it will slow turn then the triggers might (probs will) F up then you will need to get another within about 2 months and the company who makes them are making no improvements to the controller so dont waste of your time guys

May 13, 2012 - I've been trying the alternate control scheme for a day, it does help your wallbouncing and movement but it does take alot of time to get to know the control scheme, I still hit a sometime when I get shot at. You have to be very good with the controller with the alternate, when you go into cover, face your camera away and into a different cover thats near while pulling back the stick then into that direction, you need to be able to do alot of things, sometime I just mash a to see what happens.

May 13, 2012 - yeah it definitely takes quite a bit of time to get used to
R4MBO999 mowi:
May 13, 2012 - Tell me about it, you need to multitask alot with it, especially if you have a standard controller
theSUICIDEfox mowi:
May 13, 2012 - This is untrue. I tested it, and with both control schemes you must be within 3 steps of the wall to take cover. Pull off the wall and take 3 full steps with both then do 4 steps with both. The distance is equal. However, with alternate you cannot jump and take cover immediately after unless you are aware of the distance. With default you press and hold A to jump and then take cover, so the distance to the wall is moot.
theSUICIDEfox mowi:
May 14, 2012 - I don't feel like alternate is necessary to be a good wallbouncer really. I find with practice I rarely miss a wall, and even in your end segment you did very little actual bouncing. Your strafe proved more effective in nearly all those situations and default users could do the same thing. The thing I hate about alt controls is that you need to be conscious of either bouncing or rolling. I find not being forced to decide can sometimes be a good, like rolling at and then taking cover on a wall.
Jesiphisto mowi:
May 14, 2012 - It all boils down to what you're comfortable with. I haven't liked alt controls since G2, but that's because i keep in mind how far i am away from a wall, and don't have too much of a "roll instead of bounce" problem.

May 14, 2012 - u can hold X while going around cover to keep it smooth ARCTIC

May 14, 2012 - I'll give this a go in private matches until i master it but off topic, am i the only one who finds ranked matches easier than quick matches?
DizFoRDanny mowi:
May 14, 2012 - I found this problem also, you need to aim directly at the cover you want to go to
arCtiCvBi mowi:
May 14, 2012 - well hopefully in my upcoming movement tips and tactics episode I can dispel that perceived problem for many of you

May 16, 2012 - I use alternate and love it
ExVictor mowi:
May 18, 2012 - I love alternate it does feel however though that on default you can reach the walls farther could be a placebo effect though lol. Very useful never having to roll again it sucks though when you think you can reach the wall and are just stuck their in the middle. I mainly use it for multiple opponents or when I know I can get the upper hand.
Jordan2ksports mowi:
May 19, 2012 - OK THIS IS FOR EVERYONE LIKE FOR THE TOP COMMENT DO NOT USE DEFAULT ANYMORE to get the wall faster with alternate PRESS X AND A!!!!!

Apr 21, 2012 - if u dont have the onza controller, its better to play claw while on alternate i suggest going to a private match and practicing but trust me its worth it.
