This Tornado Had Winds Approaching 400kph And It Is Because Of This Footage That The Rating Was Upped From 4 To 5. Apr 10, 2012 - Why does this tornado seem to keep moving back and forth over the same general area? That's different from other tornadoes I've seen which continue to move in one direction with slight variation here and there. Puzzling.

Apr 10, 2012 - The tornado occurred out ahead of the main synoptic forcing...so there was nothing to really steer the storm as it produced the tornado..allowing the tornado to be quasi-stationary. The tornado looped around itself 3 times during its lifetime which explains why you see it moving back and forth over the same area...good eye :)

May 3, 2012 - Just by looking at other peoples experiences and videos people drive right by tornadoes because you're not in the GREATEST danger unless you really get in the way of the radius itself. Only debris can be a risk outside the radius. Kind of hard to explain but sitting in the same spot with a small radius is easily intercepted unless you try to go into it. Take a slow rolling hot ball and place it in your room. Then with the space you have look at the chances of getting burnt by the ball itself

May 20, 2012 - You have to laugh, this tornado was rated an F5 yet The Pampa tornado was rated an F4. The Pampa tornado was much more violent and powerful than this one! I wonder what the US wind engineers would have rated this, I reckon F3 at best.

One of the flaws of the Fujita scale is that a tornado that doesn't hit well-built structures at peak intensity might not be rated at its full potential. When this tornado reached its peak it was over well built houses, which were completely obliterated. From what I understand that Pampa tornado hit houses, but not when it was at peak intensity.
