Jun 15, 2011 - If you don't like it you don't like it and that is completely respectable. I myself don't like Radiohead and I can only enjoy Ulver about 7 out of the 10 times I listen to them. That of course kind of goes for every band with me. I have bands for sulkish moods, exuberant moods, and everything inbetween and it is in those moments that certain bands shine and certain bands fail. I am at least happy seeing you give credit to Ulver where credit is due.
kylefjeldheim mowi:
Jun 15, 2011 - yeah. I am the exact same way with the moods. I know what you mean.

Jun 20, 2011 - It's a fine piece, although I gotta say those female vocals are unnecessary. But anyway, I'm glad Ulver are back. :-)

Aug 8, 2011 - Distorted guitars are unnecessary for making heavy music. Ulver proved that a long time ago.

thychaos mowi:
Sep 14, 2011 - umm, not really. none of their music has ever been that heavy.
snupcho mowi:
Sep 14, 2011 - I don't think you've understood my point... Oh and they've been heavier than this - Blood Inside is a very heavy and tough record. There are so many layers of depth, death, insanity and loneliness in this record, that "heavy" is a small word for that. It's like the whole Universe is in pain and mourning over the end of everything that the word Love represents. At least that's how I assimilate it...
somberlight mowi:
Oct 6, 2011 - @snupcho, depends of the definition of heavy. i mean, on one hand if you're going by metal standards, something like deathmetal is impossible without distortion, but on the other hand if you're going by musical standards one could quite succesfully claim that Richard Wagner (for example) represented death metal of that era. the definition of heavy sounds really precise, but its actually damn vague.

Feb 17, 2012 - I didn't want to listen to Ulver's new material because of a friend who told me their Black period was much better. I learned not to judge things before taste them. This is genius.
