May 8, 2012 - But many people don't know they have DID because it's suppose to be hidden. So a statistic can only show people that have come forward about knowing they have it.

CamEstablished1993 mowi:

May 9, 2012 - I'm sure you took into account the amount of that 1% of people that would have access to internet, or the ability to use the internet. And if people wouldnt be willing to be used as a statistic I don't see why they would want to say they have D.I.D publicly on the internet. All I was saying with my comment was that I believe a heavy majority of the people that are saying they have D.I.D on this, don't. And I stand by that

CamEstablished1993 mowi:

May 9, 2012 - That is the stupidest fucking thing I have ever heard. Go home.

CamEstablished1993 mowi:

May 9, 2012 - By your logic, if they don't contribute to the statistic because they "don't know they have it" then how could they possibly say they have it on here?

TheKimKyok mowi:

May 9, 2012 - When I say that I mean the ones that have been diagnosed as a Multiple. Many find out on their own because either family bring it up or they begin to notice more and more time gaps. So the statistic only qualifies those that have been studied and diagnosed. It's a small percentage. But there could be millions out there who don't go in for it. It's only a disorder when it becomes a problem for you and others around you. And 1% percent is a lot in the entire human population.

FindTheBody mowi:

May 9, 2012 - Well, 1% of almost 7 billion people, is a lot. The majority of known DID sufferers are in North America, too. Additionally, people with DID (like myself - diagnosed) would search on the internet for research about what they have, or others would search to find out more to help friends and loved ones. It's not a stretch. of course there are bullshitters, but it's called having a selective audience. These videos would attract a certain audience, and that's what they get. Not exactly outlandish.

FindTheBody mowi:

May 9, 2012 - You're not unaware if you have therapy, or have people who are willing to talk to you after an episode and tell you about this person they met. And if you know you have it, you're probably in therapy for it. So... No. It's not necessarily phony.

snes317 mowi:

May 9, 2012 - I am dating a girl who has DID. She has told me that she has been raped by past boyfriends. But I feel like she is not telling me everything. Should I ask her more about her past and who began to abuse her and when? I really don't know if I should prove into it, but we are really close and I feel like she is hiding something from me.

TheLeaver1234 mowi:

May 11, 2012 - Dude, I totally have DID. I have, like, forty different personalities. Like, I know other people, that, like, have it too. Like, my brother and my girlfriend and that guy that works at the gas station down the street. Like, we all, like, have DID. Will everyone pay attention to me now?

jcac1023 mowi:

May 11, 2012 - No, she should go to a therapist.

tenderserena mowi:

May 12, 2012 - Wow you must be God! All knowing I am all my other-selves are not worthy!!!! LOL The Truth is you obviously have a ego problem. There is No way to know what a commenter Knows or has experienced so CamEstablished1993 you managed to make a complete fool of yourself!!! *applaud* 1 of a kind! oh I see 10 others! Ha

tenderserena mowi:

May 12, 2012 - I agree

tenderserena mowi:

May 12, 2012 - I was hospitalized at the age of 12 for 3 1/2 months and diagnosed with this... I met some others through the years. It is not something to be proud of and nobody would really do it for attention. Most anyone who has it do not actively seek attention they usually try to keep it as quite and under-control as they are able. They often have few if any friends.

tenderserena mowi:

May 12, 2012 - 53 is hard to imagine however I KNOW how it feels... *hug*

tenderserena mowi:

May 12, 2012 - For me it is mostly aware however there were many bits I lost in my younger years...

tenderserena mowi:

May 12, 2012 - That is a silly statement... How is that possible? No matter what you are aware of the fact that your not normal and the people around you keep telling you. Even though I did not know what it was I Knew I was off or different and yes you can feel it happening.

tenderserena mowi:

May 12, 2012 - So how are you doing in YOUR made up world??? What would happen if the pretty paint slipped away???

tenderserena mowi:

May 12, 2012 - especially since you would not even know one if you met them... You would have to actually live or work with them everyday. However I think because people with DID usually are not extremely social there are a lot more of them than you may think...

KillinDaWelfareMCs mowi:

May 12, 2012 - I would go and by new paint and put on a fresh coat. I can do that because I have a real job unlike the liers/fraudsters and character actors that pretend to have MPD.

KillinDaWelfareMCs mowi:

May 13, 2012 - One of my personalities loves lesbian porn. I can't stop it. So I should just accept it and say it is ok right?

DatJoshes mowi:

May 14, 2012 - I doubt its 1% possibly like 0.05

madscientist90 mowi:

May 14, 2012 - I have just finished reading an autobiography on Multiple Personality Disorder, it's called The Five of Me. Excellent stuff, very well written and explained. I recommend everyone to pick it up. =) The author is Henry Hawksworth and Ted Schwartz (I *think*). Now I'm merely just going around and doing my research by watching documentaries to understand this extremely rare condition. I must say, it's saddening but very interesting.

TerriannaUzumaki mowi:

May 16, 2012 - I was diagnosed with this.. I still say they screwed up my diagnosis.. No way I have this :/

OhYesIJustDid mowi:

May 20, 2012 - Lmfao.

MysteriousRainboom mowi:

May 26, 2012 - I have multiple people living inside of me, but I do not have DID. It isn't ALWAYS an illness/disorder. Not for everyone.
