Mar 10, 2012 - @BossHossGT500: Well, yes, but you see your comments here say that you are an extremely dull person. You see, they describe you as an appallingly dull fellow, unimaginative, timid, lacking in initiative, spineless, easily dominated, no sense of humour, tedious company and irrepressibly drab and awful.

Mar 10, 2012 - @tyrannasaurasalan: In this case you should use the local search function in order to find the "deleted scenes" from "The Life of Brian" in case you don't know them already.

Mar 10, 2012 - well fuck me sideways and call me debbie, i think we've got a comedian here
FireEyedMaidOfWar mowi:
Mar 17, 2012 - @BossHossGT500: Shut up! Shut up you American. You always talk, you Americans, you talk and you talk and say 'Let me tell you something' and 'I just wanna say this', so shut up.

Mar 18, 2012 - Oh god I love that movie

Mar 24, 2012 - Dude you need to chill it's just a movie no need to freak out.

Mar 24, 2012 - @BossHossGT500: What? You know "The Meaning of Life" by Monty Python, but utterly fail to recognise the far funnier quotes from "The Holy Grail"? I am bewildered (a bit).
FireEyedMaidOfWar mowi:
Mar 24, 2012 - @TheFuzzyJacket: Nope; Monty Python tends to be more than just a movie, as their comedies have some chance of being known for quite some time afterwards, which is seldom seen with other movies, which are supposed to be comical, but whose very names and existences are seldom to be remembered by anyone and so folk will not even know that they have been even forgotten; and there is nothing harder than writing a comedy which is amusing to watch more than once.
BossHossGT500 mowi:
Mar 25, 2012 - I recognized some of "The Holy Grail" quotes beforehand. :)
FireEyedMaidOfWar mowi:
Mar 25, 2012 - @BossHossGT500: But you made no mention of it, while you did immediately mention that the "Americans shut up" quote (originally spoken by none other than the Grim Reaper) was taken from "The Meaning of Life"! Therefore I have to give you a test about "The Holy Grail": What were the tasks which the Knights who say Ni did demand of King Arthur and which of the Knights was with him, when he had to fulfil this quest?

Mar 25, 2012 - They wanted him to cut down a tree with a herring!

Mar 29, 2012 - The part where York is cleaning out that German trench.....that's where an M1897 Winchester shotgun would have wreaked total havoc. Just slam fire away and watch every kraut in that trench get torn to pieces by a blizzard of 00buck. The Germans were scared shitless of American soldiers with shotguns. But York looks like he was doing a hell of a fine job using that 1917 Enfield.
FireEyedMaidOfWar mowi:
Mar 31, 2012 - @BossHossGT500: But do you know which of the knights did inform King Arthur about the true shape of the earth and about a method how to prevent earthquakes? Also name the shape of the earth and of course the method to prevent earthquakes.

Apr 25, 2012 - Ah, the War to End All Wars...If each side had simply agreed to kill a thousand of their own young men every week or so and perhaps maim a few thousand more, people could've stayed home and been a lot more comfortable and in the end roughly the same would've been accomplished.
SatchmoSings mowi:
Apr 26, 2012 - You're correct; it was the US that introduced shotguns into the war; the Germans thought us barbarians for bringing this weapon to trench warfare.
SatchmoSings mowi:
Apr 26, 2012 - It makes you realize what an absolutely vile and senseless thing war is. Alvin York was a thoroughly decent man he just got caught up in events so much bigger than himself; he truly represented the best of traditional, Scotch-Irish American stock that helped build and make this country great; the poster here has a link to his dairies; I urge everyone to read them.
wmpope100 mowi:
Apr 26, 2012 - I heartily agree!
SatchmoSings mowi:
Apr 26, 2012 - Thank you. Sergeant York would have been the first one to tell you that he was not a great man; he said, "The uniform's not for sale." He was, however, a truly good man; I wish more people were like him; we'd be a better country and it would be a better world.
wmpope100 mowi:
Apr 27, 2012 - My grandfather, whose ancestors immigrated to America from Scotland (last name Gillis) in the early 1800's and whose photo is on my channel, said that when he was returning from New York by train after the war ended, he was in the same train car as Alvin York and met him. He said he was a very unassuming and humble man.
SatchmoSings mowi:
Apr 27, 2012 - What Sergeant York actually accomplished and how he did is basically shown in this film and it was no fantasy; York was (probably) the most decorated and certainly the most well-known Congressional Medal Of Honor winner of this war and in real life he was a truly decent and humble man; it's a matter of public record.
