Feb 10, 2012 - And I should say, I'm excited to try out the Abarth in person.

Feb 11, 2012 - I own a Fiat 500 Pop and the owners manual says 87 octane is acceptable, but premium is preferred. I have used 89 and 90 octane. Mine has automatic, and I get 32 mpg in town, and it has plenty of power.

Feb 12, 2012 - the fit is so much better and probably has better reliability

Feb 25, 2012 - Fun little car. But...why on earth does the speedo go to 140? I don't think it'd do 140 if you dropped it off a cliff.
guigow2004 mowi:
Feb 26, 2012 - If you put a turbo you can see your car going more than 140mph. So the speedometer have to be prepared for that. :P

Feb 26, 2012 - Aren't they releasing a 171hp version?

Feb 27, 2012 - I'd still rather have a Smart Car. LOL :) The Fiat is a tad bit bigger in size than the Smart Car, i can see that, but, still, my dream one day is to have a Smart Car sitting in the driveway. I had a ' 94 Geo Metro, but the radiator started going bad in it, so i sold it for dirt cheap. :( I think what may feel fast in a small car, because it's smaller...just doing 55 mph in the Geo Metro felt like you were doing 75+...because it's low to the ground & small, like a go cart. lol

Mar 1, 2012 - Obviously you aren't much of a car person. Sure the Smart may be smaller, but the Fiat is much, much, MUCH more fun to own on a day-to-day basis.

Mar 4, 2012 - Yeah! The 500 Abarth. :)

Mar 14, 2012 - It's awesome! :)

Mar 15, 2012 - you said nothing about it riding like a midsize car- its a car you can drive all day in and not be worn out from getting beat up by the pot holes! I can easily cruise at 80 mph in my wife's 500 c 6 speed auto. The inside is put together and doesnt feel cheep like the other 5 small cars we drove. This car merges into traffic and passes with ease and it never feels under powered or gets tossed around by the wind- it handles cross winds better then my Grand Marquis. We Love it!- oh 33city, 39.5hwy

Mar 15, 2012 - Looked at one; FIAT should have included a rotating blade underneath.

Apr 4, 2012 - Great review! The 500 looks like a fun car. How does the handling compare to a Mini Cooper? My Cooper S is one of the best handling cars I've driven. Also, I wish Fiat would offer a two-seater version of the 500, to maximize cargo room. None of my friends would fit in that back seat anyway. :)

Apr 23, 2012 - Buy this car, so every girl will say to you that you have a cute car ;) But, for similar mount of money Focus is my favour.
zacheryds mowi:
May 6, 2012 - wait. u can't put regular fuel in this?
mpgomatic mowi:
May 6, 2012 - The 500's MultiAir engine can run on regular unleaded (87 octane) gasoline, but 91 octane is recommended.
zacheryds mowi:
May 6, 2012 - will it hurt it if you use regular?
mpgomatic mowi:
May 6, 2012 - If it pings and knocks on regular, that's not a good thing over time. Once in a while shouldn't be a problem, but not every tank.

Feb 10, 2012 - I wouldn't buy this as a daily 30 mile commute car, but if I lived in the city, this would be a great little car. I also imagine it's a great second car for families that already have something like a minivan or a suv.
