Apr 7, 2012 - just to clear things up mein freund , as a proud irish person who loves ireland , what are you saying exactly about ireland ? because ireland hates the brits much more than the germans ... greetings from a small freckled red headed leprechaun with a pint of guinness in my hands

Apr 9, 2012 - Its nice that the Germans call us English gay. Nice to know you lost two world wars to homosexuals. Oh...and a World Cup.

Apr 10, 2012 - I once had a chance to interact with Germans. They don't fuck around when it comes to work. Incredibly efficient and organized.

Apr 10, 2012 - Ireland wasn't in the War?
TheNothingDoing mowi:
Apr 10, 2012 - Neutral. The Troubles made them cautious. Plus, the Irish could fight in the war if they wanted; they were allowed to join the British military.

Apr 10, 2012 - I always cringe, when I meet non-Germans who tell me, they've only been to Frankfurt. That's really one of the worst parts of the country and nobody should form an opinion based on that. It's like judging all of England, if you've only ever been to Heathrow. Please don't do that.

Apr 12, 2012 - When I traveled to Germany, I visited Trier, Cologne, Berlin, and Aachen. Each was very unique and definitely had some of my best travel experiences in those areas. But I agree, you can't judge a nation on one city. Visit Jacksonville, USA and you'll see what I mean- you'd claw your eyes out after a few hours, but the city does nothing for some of the great history and landmarks that exist (far off) elsewhere in the US. Gotta be smart when you travel.

Apr 14, 2012 - I think he is mostly disturbed by the "ch"s and "sch"s in our language, and it's certainly true that many non-native speakers I've met seem to have the most problems with that aspect, right after our grammar. As a German myself I quite readily find other languages way more melodious and easy on the ear. ^^
