Feb 26, 2010 - Sadly not. The MVS games used to cost way more than AES, now its totally the opposite.

Jul 11, 2010 - i think neo geo is a 32bit sistem

IvoryGecko1993 mowi:

Jul 14, 2010 - Why couldn't the home carts be the same as the MVS carts? SNK would have killed the competition if the AES had the same slot as the MVS, and marketed the MVS carts for the home user.

Aug 17, 2010 - It's technecally a 24 bit system, but some ppl consider cit a 16 bit system

LMassacreproductions mowi:

Feb 13, 2011 - Negative. Its 24 bit.

jonlovesmay mowi:

Apr 25, 2011 - The Neo Geo was marketed as 24-bit, though it was technically a 16-bit system with an 8-bit Zilog Z80 as coprocessor. The coprocessor was generally used for sound processing.

May 20, 2011 - Wow. Your MVS cart looks so shiny. How do you clean?

franku26 mowi:

Nov 24, 2011 - How much was the original price of an AES cartridge

SitarKnight mowi:

Dec 24, 2011 - The main reason the AES carts or more expensive is because they were not mass produced like the MVS carts.

RetroRepair mowi:

Dec 26, 2011 - About 3 years late but the main reason converters exist other than the slot size difference is that MVS carts have a special chip which decodes graphics built into the cart whereas the AES carts don't. The AES system itself has this chip built in. Because of how the chip works, you can't plug an MVS cart in without modifying the data or the cart.

SoftOtaku mowi:

Jan 31, 2012 - @franku26 I remember when the AES system was $800 and the cartridges were $400. I think that was around 1991. I just bought my first AES cart ( Samurai Spirits w/box) today for 480 yen. Now I just need a system!
