Sep 17, 2011 - First of all there is nothing like a 'religion' in India. We only have a 'Dharma' which actually translates to 'Law' or 'Duty'. So 'Sanatan Dharma' would actually mean 'eternal Law' or 'eternal duty'. Nirvana means "realizing the self". Death is a fiction, it never happens because that which dies is only a tool of the mind/ego. The real 'self' has never known death because it was never born.

Sep 18, 2011 - You may say so but not exactly. With the level of Bhakti/Devotion, the soul gets purer and purer. A purer soul would find a place in the astral world which is similar to Heaven. Heaven might not be permanent abode for soul and the journey of purification continues. When the soul has no trace of any worldly karmas attached, then it becomes pure energy with no shape or quality and merges into the pure comic energy. The meeting/yoga of Soul with the Pure Cosmic Energy is Nirvana.

Dec 18, 2011 - In Indian religion, heaven is the place one goes after death to enjoy the results of virtuous acts one has done. Heaven is the place of only enjoyment, when the results exhausts, he will have to come back to earth as man. Same is for Hell with wicked acts. But our religion says, a perfected human goes to Bramha loka ( Nirvana in Budhism, Salvation in English ) from where one will not come back and in this place one will be as capable as lord himself.

Dec 24, 2011 - I think "bhyaam" is correct.Paadukaabhyaam means "to the two sandals". In Sanskrit, there is a seperate Grammatical number form for Dual(Dviteeya) as English has a form for Singular and Plural) . "Paadukaa" (a feminine noun) when its "declined" it becomes "Paadukaabhyaam" in dual number in the 3,4,5 cases(Vibhakthis). I hope I did not confuse too much. Correct me if I am wrong Thanks for uploading

Jan 17, 2012 - Not at all.itz being the God Himself or attaining it..the full..the perfect..the Brahma...There is no concept of Heaven in Hinduism where God after creation sits, nor it talks about the world we reach if we done this and that...good or bad,,,In Hinduism there is only karma and result of it...

Feb 21, 2012 - @newgirlalfa: Good question! The answer is: No. "Heaven" is a place where you go to get rewarded for good deeds. But Hindus argue that finite causes can only have finite effects. Since human life and all human actions are finite, their result can never last for an infinite time. Hence the Hindu idea of Heaven (called Svarga) is something like being born on a different plane of existence, enjoying all the comforts you can imagine, living happily for a very very long time - but NOT forever!

Feb 21, 2012 - Nirvana is complete dissolution - like a wave merging back into the Ocean. You lose your small "I" (i.e. "I am Mr./Ms. So-and-so) and gain the Infinite "I" of God. Just as a wave is never separate from the ocean - it rises from the ocean, lives in the ocean, and finally subsides into the ocean - similarly, you are never entirely separate from God. Nirvana is when you realize this non-separatedness, and merge back into your original identity: God.

Feb 23, 2012 - very nice singing. Along with these pictures if the photo of Mahaperiyaval Sri Chandrasekara saraswathi swamigal, 68th peetadhipathi of Adhi Sankara's moolaamnaya matam at Kanchipuram, which is also called Kanchi Kamakoti peetam is included, it must have been very nice. This is my humble suggestion. If possible please include atleast now.

Mar 10, 2012 - Nirvana or Moksha means realizing you are a free soul after burning karma. You are incarnation of God and you realize that you are infinite thus merging with God.Heaven is also there in Hinduism but it is temporary created by thought.Though created matter. We believe every one will attain Moksha or Nirvana at some point of time.
