Sep 1, 2009 - Tommy also played this tune in a Sextet setting.With John Coltrane, Idress Sulieman ,Kenny Burell,George Joyner and Arthur Taylor.Just as Swingin but different more up tempo.Great tune as I recall Dr Taylor comment too Tommy about thedifficulty of the tune,Tommy made a joke about it saying every time I play it seems more diffcult each and every time I play it Once again wonderful post!

Dec 17, 2010 - That's right ,Tommy recorded that tune back in 1957 with musicians that you named except the rhythm section as I recall were fellow Detroiters Doug Watkins on bass and Louis Hayes on drums. Anyway, excellent record and a great tune that I heard Tommy play many times and it never seemed too difficult for him to play it.

Jul 27, 2011 - I went to the Village Vangurad at NY to see his live performance in 1997. This was the last time when I saw him. The performance was not so technical but very sophisticated. Having shaked with hands after the stage is now one of my great memories for Tommy.
