Aug 25, 2011 - He was one of those great Orioles pitchers back in the 70's and early 80's.

Aug 25, 2011 - They are reporting it was a suicide. I think I seen Flanagen pitch. I remember my first Oriole game, they lost to the A's, Sal Bando, Bert Campaneris, Joe Rudi, Reggie Jackson etc. Rest in Peace Mike Flanagen.

Aug 27, 2011 - that sucks...why did he do it?

clintonearlwalker mowi:

Aug 27, 2011 - Here's what I read, to be sure, I have no idea if there is any truth to it or not. Flanagen was pretty high up in the Orioles front office and apparently people were blaming him for the recent years of Oriole's losing. Someone said that contributed to his suicide. I know Rick Dempsey and Jim Palmer both teared up when they tried to talk about it before recent Oriole games. I've watched Flanagen for several years as an Oriole announcer, this is hard for me to believe.

Aug 28, 2011 - geeze...if u quit or get fired...it wouldn't really bother me...but sucks it bothered him

clintonearlwalker mowi:

Aug 28, 2011 - Yes, I don't think anyone really expected Mike Flanagen to commit suicide. I read that he shot himself in the face, his body was found on a path between his house and shed in Monkton, MD. That's why identification of his body took about 12 hours. I read the Medical Examiner concluded it was suicide, maybe he left a note, but his family didn't release it, I don't know. It's hard to believe someone with his money, etc. would kill them-self. It's a strange world.

Aug 28, 2011 - gosh i sometimes just don't get it...celebs, athletes, are so filthy rich, and they just make their lives so difficult because of the drugs, peer pressure, alcohol...if i was in their shoes, i would just relax and enjoy life with millions of dollars in my bank account...maybe you have the answer troubling lives

clintonearlwalker mowi:

Aug 28, 2011 - No, I certainly don't have the answer. I had a relative shoot himself dead about 2 months ago. He was married and lived in DC, (actually I'm related to his ex wife), they had money, a nice apartment, a jet ski and other stuff. He was afraid he was going to lose his job. I have a pic saved of him on my computer I took when he visited here about 2 years ago, pretty creepy. I can't or won't judge, I'm not in their shoes, still seems strange though.

Aug 28, 2011 - can i see the pic? im curious

clintonearlwalker mowi:

Aug 28, 2011 - It's just a pic of him standing in our kitchen with some other relatives, if you send my your e-mail address in a personal message, I'll send you the pic. That's the only way I know to send pics.

Aug 29, 2011 - @clintonearlwalker subzeroxx20@yahoo.com...kinda want to know why the pic was creepy

clintonearlwalker mowi:

Aug 29, 2011 - I only ever seen that guy maybe 3 times in my life over about 20 years. He just looked like a decent young guy with a good wife, job, apartment, etc. I've taken few pics and saved them on my computer, but I have one of him, and he's dead. I seen a photo laying on our table yesterday, it was his name carved on his headstone. My pic just seems creepy now. I have some other pics that are more creepy. The former Weston State Hospital, vids of that place on YouTube.
