Dec 19, 2008 - Not true. In the low range the condition lever controls fuel on / off and feather unfeather. However in the upper range of the condition lever it controls the propper pitch between 900 and 1200rpm. You pull the condition lever back to 900 rpm in cruise for noise and fuel efficiency. If you put the condition all the way forward you will get 1200rpm, if you put it in the middle you will get 1050rpm which you use in icing conditions to keep ice from adhering to the propeller tips.
