MrBradyR mowi:

Dec 5, 2011 - yes its dirty, but don't be assholes. This is a show band. NOT a DCI or WGI band. There is some amazing talent on this line here. The only thing i can really point out that is lacking is work on timing. Get that down, and this line would be phenomenal.

Casideee mowi:

Dec 8, 2011 - that was nastyyyyyy, NYC stand up!

andrepassos2011 mowi:

Dec 14, 2011 - Very nice! Im from Brazil! Look my chanel with bahia percussion course!

writindrummer mowi:

Apr 1, 2012 - Okay, someone tell me why they think this is good. Don't get me wrong; their visuals are cool, but anyone can learn visuals. It takes months of practicing with talented percussionists/drummers to make eight snares sound like one snare. I understand they are a show band, but no one on that line should be happy about the way they performed. No one should throw visuals into a line until they play clean.

Apr 9, 2012 - I am a percussion instructor. I've marched show band. I also was in 2 All American college bands under the instruction of guys that taught SCV and BD. As in all genres of music, there are different ways of expressing yourself. They often have different goals entirely. What I am tired of is people judging things outside of their experience with their own...experience.Let me put it like this. DCI finals sells out half a stadium to musicians, friends of musicians, and family members of musicians. cont'd

ditnoj mowi:

Apr 9, 2012 - The Honda Battle of the Bands sells out the entire Georgia Dome to regular people, most of whom are non musicians, and most of whom would not care to sit through even 3 of the corps at DCI finals. I don't find a problem with either crowd because they are paying their money and showing support for two different modes of expression. Do you watch African Drumming and talk about whether or not it's "clean"? To not put visuals in until you can "play clean" is not what everyone is about. cont'd

ditnoj mowi:

Apr 9, 2012 - Let's go back to when the snares were 16" big. Do you think you would have even known if they were playing clean or not? Why do drum lines play "funk" on high pitched bass drums and snares that sound like a wooden desk when compared to the fat, wet snare sound that is how the music was intended? Why do we add all these complicated percussion parts to Beethoven, Brahms and even John Williams when that's not how they wrote the music? If you're going have limited vision in...cont'd

ditnoj mowi:

Apr 9, 2012 - one area, make sure you limit it in all areas. Other than that. PLEASE remember that at the end of the day the GOD GIVEN gift of MUSIC was never intended for competition in the first place! It's intended to be expressive, aesthetic, SUBJECTIVE. Man! Don't you just HATE those drawings kids make for their parents with no apparent consideration for hue, contrast, composition, etcetera... Maybe if we would take something for what it IS instead of what it ISN'T EVEN TRYING TO BE we'd be better off.
