May 25, 2012 - i cant speak to what every armature knows, but i've been behind the camera for 7 years and every PROFESSIONAL knows that adjusting a light or prop during a shoot is routine--hell, i did it this morning. you walk onto set during a cutaway shot, make the adjustment, and walk off set before the director cuts back--standard procedure. i guarantee you any tv chef has experienced exactly that hundreds of times and knows exactly how to deal with it like a professional.

My former superior that thinks of himself as god's gift to IT took it upon himself to dick around with the internet connection thinking "I've got this. it'll only take a minute." It would be like a tv chef cooking on the stovetop, and then someone walking onto the set, adjusting the flame because they didn't think it was right. I guarantee you Rachel Ray would ask "What the hell do you think you're doing?"

May 26, 2012 - man, i've gone in and adjusted the pillows on a tallent's chair while they were sitting in it and actively speaking over video, and the response was 'thank you'. it SHOULD always be 'thank you' because thats how shots stay looking good, and one of the major ways production does its job. discreet has nothing to do about it--thats just part of the process. i can guarantee you that rachel ray HAS had someone walk on set and adjust the burners during a show.
