Nov 4, 2011 - Thank God there are at least 2 or 3 real journalists left with the intelligence to discern the truth and the courage to spread it. Bill Moyers is one of that select few.

Nov 4, 2011 - Carson argues the centralization of wealth into a class hierarchy is due to state intervention to protect the ruling class, by using a money monopoly, granting patents and subsidies to corporations, imposing discriminatory taxation, and intervening militarily to gain access to international markets.

notetoanon mowi:

Nov 4, 2011 - He believes the term "laissez-faire capitalism" is an oxymoron because "actually existing capitalism.", he argues, is the "organization of society, incorporating elements of tax, usury, landlordism, and tariff, which thus denies the Free Market while pretending to exemplify it".

Nov 4, 2011 - that this man can continue to so clearly see and express American reality is a gift and an obligation to us all...we must take up the gauntlet

Nov 4, 2011 - A very intelligent citizen of national prominence . Why do we have so few?

Nov 4, 2011 - the plutocrats have seriously overestimated their wealth equaling power, and they have seriously underestimated the peoples desire for democracy. the plutocrats have gravely overplayed their hand. i ask you citizen. what is the need for hierarchical corporations? where ideas and money must flow thru those at the top? those who prevent access to you? how has globalization of these monopolies benefited humanity? we need a new enlightenment, this dynamic is no longer workable.

Nov 6, 2011 - I hope every SCHOOL TEACHeR requires their open-minded students to watch this speedh and and to discuss this crucial issue. Democracy is imperiled because we have allowed ourselves to be ruled by money in America.

Nov 6, 2011 - Bill Moyers is a national treasure. Heed him.

Nov 7, 2011 - Moyers knew, that once PBS started to receive funding from ADM, that all was lost. The same goes for NPR - public in 'name' only. I applaud his activism + although I am too old outrun the tear gas dispensed, my tears will be for the many, not for the few. It is not a matter of jealousy, it is a matter of justice. And no, I don't want to be a millionaire, ever.

Nov 7, 2011 - Agreed Moyers is a true American hero for all he has done over many years to expose the supreme greed and corruption of politicians and corporate whores...Bill is one of the few REAL journalists in the US to actually do his job, unlike so many of the corporate whore in the media today

Nov 8, 2011 - I think he is definitely a treasure and one of our current 'founding fathers'.. to speak of freedom as it should be.

Nov 19, 2011 - I agree that money has too much influence in politics and citizens should be more involved. But elections matter. Three Republican presidents nominated the justices who gave us Citizens United. Ralph Nader negated much of the good work he did by splitting the progressive vote in 200, so GW Bush won, putting us on the path to Iraq war, Citizens United, Great Recession, deep debt, and stalled progress on the environment. Nader thought his message mattered more than the election's outcome. Wrong!

Feb 6, 2012 - What do you mean Nader nagated much of his early work. Are you happy with this current corrupt system of politics? In 2000, the point Nader was trying to make, the point that he is still trying to make, is that we can do better. Nader leveled charges against the politicians in 2000 that have all proven true. He in essence established case law that cannot be refuted and it is now up to us all to hold these crooks, corporations and politicians alike, accountable.
