Oct 20, 2010 - great porpoising motion! saw a guy do that in a 172 and it resulted in a prop strike but the pilot was ok. the engine and prop had to be replaced

Nov 18, 2010 - not fair, regional pilots in europe get paid more than united states regionals!

Nov 27, 2010 - That's because they respect their careers more and will not work for pennies! Hope one day that happens in North America.....

Nov 28, 2010 - it better do, because like aroung 2020 when i graduate college and flight school it better be $60,000 or GTFO!

Aug 13, 2011 - People say they can do better than this in a simulator.. The truth is that you can customize your wind speed, direction, visibility etc. Airline pilots land these planes in all different weathers and circumstances.. Whether you are a student with 10 hours, or a 747 captain with thousands of hours.. There are perfect landings and not so perfect landings, but any landing that is safe and you can walk away from is a good landing

Sep 30, 2011 - Pilot doesn't get sacked just because of bounce during landing : )

Oct 13, 2011 - Everything was normal, pilot error.
SenorSpode mowi:
Oct 13, 2011 - Nod, thanks for clearing that up. I noticed the spoilers didn't deploy, did you see that? Either the pilot forgot to arm them on approach or they were practicing for spoiler failure. Either way...boing!
kingairflyer6 mowi:
Oct 15, 2011 - I saw it that they didn't deploy. I think he forgot it because of this hard touch down.

Nov 8, 2011 - bumby landing but i love the dash 8 series
dHC8Pilot mowi:
Dec 7, 2011 - this is dash q300 it does not have spoilers, only the q400 which deploy automatically on touhdown.
SenorSpode mowi:
Dec 7, 2011 - I know that on all Dash8 aircraft, there's roll spoilers that activate below 140 knots, but I highly doubt that the 100/200/300 series don't have spoilers deployable on landing; after all, all their wings are high-aspect-ratio. If a Q400 can float on landing without them, imagine what a lighter Dash will do...
emiratesairlinepilot mowi:
Feb 22, 2012 - Probably shouldn't have released the backpressure after the first touchdown.
meyerd26 mowi:
May 7, 2012 - Dash 8 300's don't have ground spoilers. They are deactivated.
freeze3192 mowi:
May 9, 2012 - The Dash 8-300 (and 200) do not have spoilers that deploy on touchdown.
