Aug 25, 2011 - Awesome! I have the cheap colored pencils, and the nicer ones, too but I never really knew what to do with them to make them look halfway decent. Thanks for sharing! :)

Aug 26, 2011 - Beautiful card and coloring! I have a question. Can you use Watercolor Paper if you don't have heavy base weight cardstock? TFS! ~ Pat :)

Aug 27, 2011 - Went to the Craftstore. Turns out another name for Gamsol is Taltine. Maybe that will help some of you. I had such a nice time explaining what it was and what it was for to the clerck (and in French!). So maybe you won't look as dumb as me if you know that another name for Gamsol is Taltine :)

Aug 29, 2011 - I wouldn't use paint thinner -- more fumes.
StampTV mowi:
Sep 11, 2011 - Make sure you only use artist grade Odorless Mineral Spirits. Other types can be dangerous when used inside. :) Try your local art supply store or Blick Art Supply online.

Sep 13, 2011 - Thank you for the tutorial! I never quite understood what gamsol was and how to work with it. Now I do!!

Sep 24, 2011 - Great tutorial, and thank you! To be perfectly honest, I can't afford to play with the expensive magic markers out there, but I've been using both Crayola colored pencils, and some Faber-Castle watercolor pencils, and I've been very comfortable AND happy with both! This is the first time I've heard of Gamsol however, and will have to look into that. TFS, and I'm now a subscriber! ~tina

Oct 3, 2011 - Where did you get the pump from? I would love to get something like that while I'm crafting, instead of having it in an open bowl. Thank you.
759Sherry mowi:
Oct 7, 2011 - Try looking at a beauty supply store. That pump looks like what they use for acrylic nails.
KimScrapper mowi:
Oct 23, 2011 - Someone told me that you could use rubbing alcohol if you can't find Gamsol, have you ever tried that? Great info for the colored pencils, did you know Crayola makes a great set for skin tones, I just picked them up?
